Al Souza

Al Souza received an MFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Previous to that time, he designed helicopters for Sikorsky Aircraft. He also studied at the Art Students League and the School of Visual Arts, both in New York City. In addition to RAiR, Al participated in residencies at the Ucross Foundation, Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy. He has had more than 150 solo exhibitions and has been included in the 2000 Whitney Museum Biennial, the 1981 Sao Paulo Biennale and the 1976 Venice Biennale.
