Alison Saar
Alison Saar (1956) was born to artist-parents in Los Angeles, California where she returned to live after fifteen years in New York. In 1978 she obtained a BA in Arts History and Studio Art from Scripps College in Clarement, California. In 1981 Alison earned a MFA from the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Specializing in sculpture and mixed-media installations, her work is in the collections of, amongst others, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. In 2012 Alison was named a Fellow of United States Artists. In 2018 she solo-exhibited in the L.A. Louver Gallery in Venice, California.
