Phillips Steps in as New RAiR Director

Larry Bob Phillips is very familiar with the region and the RAiR Program. He was born in Canyon, Texas; received his undergraduate degree at the Kansas City Art Institute where he coincidentally had a drawing class under Stephen Fleming; graduated with an MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2003, and spent 2010 in Roswell as a RAiR grantee. Along the way he also opened an art gallery, taught drawing and art history, married photographer Tammy Zibners, exhibited extensively, painted numerous murals, and built and refurbished property in Albuquerque. He comes to RAiR from a position as Meow Wolf’s paint and pigment specialist.

Larry Bob and Tammy are new parents, and 7-month-old Henry will be the growing reminder by which years are measured at RAiR.

“I look forward to an energized and fulfilling 2019 on Howard Cook Road!” Larry Bob said recently.

Welcome back to Roswell and to RAiR Larry Bob!
