September - October AMoCA News
Like a Box of Chocolates!
The events and rentals this past month show the diversity and assortment of the Anderson Museum's capabilities and uses.
From mid-September to mid-October, AMoCA's uses include a community dinner for RAiR artist Lauren Clay, the Altrusa Club's 75th Anniversary luncheon, a breakfast with the Governor, a celebration of life, the Pecos Valley Quilters meeting (look for results in a future newsletter), the Roswell Refuge's remembrance night for victims of domestic violence, piano students auditions, and a guided tour of the museum for students at the University of New Mexico (thanks to Amanda Curreri and Welly Fletcher for organizing). Add the Assurance Home youth flower arranging and the Jazz Festival....and you've got a delicious blend of what's possible at AMoCA!
Jazzing it up at AMoCA -The 15th Annual Roswell Jazz Festival finale was held this past Sunday at AMoCA and featured Jazz Guest of Honor Johnny Varo (above) and Rossano Sportiello, both on piano, and Chuck Redd on vibraphone. More than 100 people were treated to a Varo-Sportiello duet on the piano, with Redd even adding a fifth hand to the lively tune!

Artwork Inspires Flower Designs
The Pecos Valley Iris Society provided the flowers. AMoCA provided the Inspiration. The Assurance Home teenagers brought their creativity and personalities. The successful outcome was a dozen artful flower arrangements and three happy Iris Society members. Thanks to Melanie Deason, Yukie Ebarra-Pfeuffer and Dianne Brennan for creating this unique and thoughtful experience and using AMoCA's collection in such a beautiful way. (Photo by Melanie Deason)
