Museum Day Roswell

Over 500 people visited the Anderson Museum on Museum Day, Sept. 14, 2024. Participating museums were the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art; NMMI McBride Museum; Roswell Museum; Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico; Miniatures & Curious Collections Museum; International UFO Museum & Research Center; Walker Aviation Museum.

Visitors to the Anderson Museum were invited to participate in a scavenger hunt that was designed by ann haeyoung (RAiR 2023-24) and also won prizes upon completion of the hunt.

Prize drawings were held at each museum. People who had visited each of the seven museums and got their “passport” stamped were eligible for the grand prize drawing held at the end of the day at the Roswell Museum.

Community Artist Dinner for Nina Robinson at AMoCA

The Anderson Museum held a community dinner in Nina Robinson’s honor on Sept. 20, following Nina’s artist talk and the opening reception for her exhibition Spirit Room at the Roswell Museum. RAiR artists mixed with RAiR alumni, board members and the Roswell arts community.

RAiR Artists Perform in Local Rock Band

Three RAiR artists performed in the local rock band OIL on September 20 at a brewery in Roswell. It was the second official gig for the band, which played their fist gig on the RAiR compound. The band was organized by Schyler Reis, a friend of many of the RAiR artists.
