Brian Leo

Minnesota painter, printmaker and sculptor Brian Leo (b. 1940) received his BFA major in Sculpture with a minor in Printmaking from the Minneapolis School of Art in 1965. After receiving his MFA from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in 1967, Brian was selected for a RAiR grant. While in residence he designed a new lithographic studio for the facility. While living in Richfield, Minnesota producing sculptures and lithographs, Brian was a return short-term artist-in-residence in Roswell. He won awards for his sculptures as well as his lithographs and taught art history at a variety of colleges between 1969 and 1979. Brian’s work is held in the collections of, amongst others, the University of New Mexico and the University of Minnesota galleries.
