Carl Bronson

Carl was born in Syracuse NY and was educated at the University of New Mexico (BFA) and The California Institute of the Arts (MFA). He is a painter whose works link “Rothko-esque fields of color to a materialist sensibility that energetically negates any claims of transcendence…” In other words, he is a rather quirky artist. His piece on display in the Anderson Museum is simpler than the above description: a luminous, beautiful array of dots of bright paint on a styrene background, which adds depth and light in a wonderful way. Carl solo-exhibited at the Massimo Audiello Gallery in New York City in 1991 and the Christopher Grimes Gallery, Santa Monica, California in 1992. He continued to exhibit in Los Angeles up until 2001.
