Coleen Sterritt | Los Angeles
Coleen was born in Morris, Illinois, received her BFA from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and her MFA from the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Based in L.A., Coleen exhibits internationally and has received numerous recognitions, including a John Simon Guggenheim Award. She has taught extensively as well, and since 1998 has been a professor and faculty coordinator of the sculpture program at Long Beach City College. Her mixed-media sculptures, watercolors, and drawings develop intuitively, through process and by chance, making her bodies of work fresh and diverse.
