David Reed
Abstract colorist painter David Reed (b. 1946) was born in San Diego and graduated from Reed College. He also attended the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He visited his friend, fellow artist Bill Midgette in Roswell, then applied for a RAiR grant himself and was accepted. His touring exhibition ‘Painting Paintings (David Reed) 1975’ originated at the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and traveled to Gagosian, New York, then Los Angeles. Other exhibitions included ‘The Mirror and The Pool’, Kunstmuseen Krefeld; Museum Haus Lange, Germany; and ‘Vice and Reflection - An Old Painting, New Paintings and Animations’ at the Pérez Art Museum, Miami.
