Photographer and Roswell Artist-in-Residence Nina Robinson is driven to explore the themes of home, memory, endings, and beginnings, and how they manifest in the world and each of us. Her ability to find strength and meaning in the quiet, introspective moments is a defining characteristic of her work. Encouraging people to build upon what they already possess within them, she uses the photographic medium as a healing tool for herself and others, fostering more authentic conversations about how we see and how what we see shapes our world. Robinson’s work is a blend of personal experiences, documentary storytelling, and fine art aesthetics.

In her project Spirit Room, Robinson explores the concept of time, delving into the cyclical nature of life and relationships, while reflecting on themes of death, beauty, and introspection. By merging techniques such as the Rorschach ink blots with cyanotype processes on glass and watercolor paper, she aims to evoke emotions and symbols reminiscent of the dream state or what she envisions tears might resemble if they were to fall at our feet.

Nina Robinson is an award-winning documentary photographer, educator, and Fujifilm Ambassador known for her tender, cinematic, and visceral work. Her photography has been featured on international platforms such as Netflix, Lifetime, Rolling Stone, the New York Times, and TIME, among others. She covers stories across the US, breaking visual prejudices of race, gender, class, and age.
