Gerald Bergstein
Boston painter Gerald “Gerry” Bergstein (1947- ) received his MFA from The Boston Museum School, Massachusetts, in 1971. His residency at RAiR came two years later and was crucial in his development as an artist. The community of serious artists, the unlimited studio time and the amazing landscape of New Mexico were revelations to a young painter who had never before been west of the Mississippi. Since then he attended other residencies such as the Camargo Foundation in France and The Bogliasco Foundation in Italy. Gerry had more than forty solo exhibitions nationally and internationally, and has been represented by Gallery NAGA in Boston and Stux Salon West Gallery in New York. He served on the arts faculty of The Boston Museum School for forty years before retiring to pursue studio work full-time.
