Jason Knapp

Jason Knapp (b. 1951) was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned a BFA in Painting from the University of Kansas, Lawrence in 1973 and an MA in Painting in 1974 and an MFA in Sculpture in 1976 from the University of California, Berkeley. He was an academic for nearly 40 years, notably as a tenured Professor of Art and Chair at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana and as the Director of the university’s Wilson Galleries. Jason had numerous sculpture commissions, the Crystal Arch Monument in front of Anderson’s City Building being one. He had around twenty solo exhibitions, designed over fifteen performances/videos between 1973 and 2003 and participated in more than sixty group exhibitions.
