Jerry Williams

Jerry Williams (1943 - 2021) was born in Worcester, Maine. In 1965 after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, Jerry began making his artwork in the box format.  Soon after his first RAiR residency, he moved to Sweden, where he founded a Box Art Museum and experimented with animation. Jerry exhibited throughout Europe and in the United States. Between 1969 and 2017 he participated in about fifty group and fifteen solo exhibitions. His work is held in the public collections of, amongst others, the DeCordova Museum, Lincoln and the Trolhattan Konsthall, Sweden. Jerry was the Founder and Curator of the Box Art Museum in Tanumshede, Sweden between 1998 and 2001. Between 1969 and 2017 he participated in about fifty group and fifteen solo exhibitions.
