Joshua Rose
Joshua Rose (1948) was born and raised in New York City. After travelling to Israel and Europe in the mid-1960s, he went to Albuquerque and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1971 with a BFA, followed by a MFA in 1981 from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Joshua taught painting and drawing at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces from 1981 until 2008, where, as Professor Emeritus, he served as the head of the Art Department for ten years. He was awarded Arts and Sciences Research Grants nine times between 1981 and 2003 and participated in over sixty-five solo and group exhibitions. Joshua’s work is in the public collections of, amongst others, the New Mexico State University Gallery, Las Cruces and the Capitol Art Foundation, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
