Laurel Farrin
Iowa-based Laurel Farrin (1955- ) received her BFA in Studio Art from Ohio University, Athens in 1977 and her MFA in Painting from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993. From 1998 to 2019 she was an Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Laurel’s residencies include four Yaddo Fellowships between 2003 and 2018 in Saratoga Springs, New York as well as one with the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Selected exhibitions include Dan Devening Projects, Chicago; Lesley Heller Gallery, NYC; Hallwalls, NY; The Bronx River Art Center; Roswell Museum and Art Center; The Des Moines Art Center; The Figge Museum,The Sioux City Art Center; Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts; The Florida Center for Contemporary Art; Spaces in Cleveland, Ohio; Anton Gallery; The Corcoran Gallery of Art; and Washington Project for the Arts in Washington, DC.
