Lisa Allen 

Lisa Allen (1955- ) was born in Peking, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a BFA in Painting in 1977 and a MFA in Lithography in 1979. She taught at Maine College of Art for eight years before specializing in animal portraiture and book illustration. In 1983 she won a National Endowment for the Arts grant and, in 2000, a Maine State Individual Artist Grant. She exhibited in Maine, New York, Chile, North Carolina, Arizona, New Mexico and Maryland. Her work is in the public collections of, amongst others, the Portland Museum of Art, Maine and the Texas Fine Arts Association, Austin.
