Scott Greene

Born in Denver, Colorado, painter and master printer Scott Greene (1958- ) studied at California College of the Arts before receiving his BFA in painting from San Francisco Art Institute in 1981 and his MFA in painting from the University of New Mexico in 1994. In addition to RAiR, he has exhibited nationally and internationally in over twenty solo exhibitions and participated in more than fifty group exhibitions, including at the Kulturtorvet Gallery in Copenhagen, Austin Museum of Art, Canton Museum of Art, Albuquerque Museum of Art and History and Kohler Art Center. His work combines art historical references and satire to reveal the often divisive relationships between nature, politics and culture. Awards include the Tamarind Artist Print Residency in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2018 and the Lubbock Fine Art Center Juror Selection Award in Lubbock, Texas. Scott’s work is held in the public collections of, amongst others, the Albuquerque Museum, New Mexico and the New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.
