Sharyn Finnegan
Realist landscape and figurative painter, Sharyn Finnegan (1946- ) participated in residencies around the world, notably Iceland, Denmark, Ireland, England, Greece and at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire. She attained her BFA from Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York in 1967 and her MFA from New York University in 1969. Her work has been exhibited at the Queens Museum, the Grey Gallery, New York University, Reading Museum, Butler Institute, Dishman Museum, Galerie Mani in Berlin, and since 2008 at the Blue Mountain Gallery in New York City. Sharyn was a professor at the Parsons School of Design for 30 years and is a writer and curator. Sharyn’s most recent monograph on Juanita McNeely was published in 2011. She received a BRIO Award in 2012 from the Bronx Council of Arts.
