Susan Bremner
Anchorage-based artist Susan Bremner (b. 1950 ) was born in the territory of Alaska and was nine years old when Alaska became a state. Anchorage in the 1950s and 1960s had few and infrequent venues for art exhibits, but there was enough to inspire a burgeoning artist. She graduated from Central Washington State College, Ellensburg, in 1972 with a BA and in 1974 with a MA. Susan received a MFA in printmaking from California State University, Long Beach in 1980. Her prints have been in over sixty juried solo and group exhibitions across the United States. Her paintings are in the collections of the Alaska State Museum, the Alaska Museum of the North, and the Anchorage Museum. Artist residencies included the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley and the MacDowell Colony.
