Susana Viola Jacobson

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Susana Viola Jacobson (1947) earned a BFA at the University of Utah in 1972, an MFA from Stanford University, California in 1980. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in New York in 1970. Susana taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, the University of Iowa, Stanford University and Humboldt State University. In addition to RAiR, her residencies included the Vermont Studio Center Press, Joseph & Anni Albers Foundation, Yaddo, and the University of Georgia in Cortona. Her awards include a G. Holmes Perkins Faculty Award, an Ingram-Merrill Foundation Grant and a National Endowment for the Arts Individual Artist’s Grant. She has been a visiting critic and speaker at numerous universities, and has exhibited throughout the United States in over seventy-five solo and group exhibitions.
