Theodore Golubic †
Born in Lorain, Ohio, Theodore “Ted” Golubic (1928-2005) received his BA in painting from Miami University in Ohio in 1951 and subsequently studied painting at the Art Students' League in New York City. He then entered the studio of Ivan Mestrovic, the sculptor at Syracuse University in New York as his assistant and followed Ivan to the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where Ted received his MFA in sculpture in 1957. As a sculptor, he worked in stone and bronze, at times executing large religious commissions. He exhibited at the International Sculpture Symposium in Yugoslavia in 1973 and is listed in the Who’s Who in American Art. Ted combined science and art. He won a Eureka Award in 1995 for his patented semiconductor chips invented between 1974 and 1995 during his time with Motorola in Phoenix, Arizona.
