Wayne Enstice

Wayne Enstice (1943) was born in Irvington, New Jersey. He obtained his BFA in 1965 from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and moved to Albuquerque to gain his MFA in 1969 from the University of New Mexico. Wayne also produced work under the alternative artistic identity of ‘Emile Webrile’. His career in art education included being a Professor and Chair of the Department of Art at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, from 1990-1995 and Director and Professor of the School of Art at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio from 1995. In 2017-18, as a resident of Kentucky, he was awarded an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship. Wayne has been repeatedly listed in ‘Who’s Who in American Art’ since 1982. Between 1974 and 1989 he held over ten solo exhibitions and participated in over sixty group exhibitions across the United States until 2006.
