Wesley Rusnell 

Originally from Cleveland, Wesley Rusnell (1934 - 2023) earned his BA in English from San Francisco State University. He had his first solo show at Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s City Lights Book Store in 1963, moving to Taos, New Mexico that same year. From 1966 to 1980 he painted a large colorful series of female nudes. He exhibited paintings in numerous galleries and museums in the Southwest, and was been awarded regional prizes. He married Elizabeth Willard in 1967, and participated in the Taos Moderns, Stables Galley Taos Art Association from 1964 to 1974. Wesley served as Curator of Collections at the Roswell Museum and Art Center from 1976 to 2006.
